LATEST MTC NEWS

JANUARY 2010

It’s been ages since my last news update that’s because I keep forgetting!!!  Well we have had two very successful shows: ‘The Wize Guy of Lubards High’ and ‘A night a the Theatre’ the later of which took place in October half term 09 and Lee Mead was able to a come along and see it and very impressed he was too.  We also danced at The Cliffs Pavilion in July 09 as part of the Mencap concert and we were very well received and it was a wonderful night for everyone involved.

Unfortunately in the Autumn of 2009 we lost our very dear friend James Beckwith. This was a tragedy and very difficult for us all to come to terms with. However the charity we formed because of him will continue its work of providing an environment where everyone can enjoy the social and therapeutic benefits of the performing arts.

This year has seen us invited to perform at many more events than ever before so much so that in the end I had to start turning them down... our students never fail to make me proud and I thank them for this.

We have also had Lamda exams for which we achieved a 100% pass rate most with Distinction and Honours and have in place our ISTD Ballet, Modern and Tap syllabus classes.  So all in all it’s been a busy time.  Here’s to another great year although it hasn’t started off that good as I have broken my foot and am on crutches.  Ho hum we soldier on!!!
